Description: One of the residents of Kotoshi Village, Souzou has been in love with his childhood sweetheart, Myeko Miyuki, for as long as he could remember. Impetuous and hopelessly, hopelessly geeky, he anticipated his wedding to Myeko for months. Underneath those coke-bottle glasses, though, is a sweet fella with a heart of gold.

When a Myeko-look-alike showed up in his home village of Kotoshi on his and Myeko's wedding day, Souzou was unable to tell that she was not his true bride. Little did he know that the girl looking at him with such an expression of surprise and revulsion was none other than the future Warrior of the Moon. While getting ready for the ceremony, Souzou suddenly felt the tremors of an earthquake, and rushed to rescue his bride, only to find the real Myeko in the care of Hinako, the Moon Warrior. As the three of them attempted to escape, a support beam fell on Myeko, wounding her terribly. Souzou remained with her while Hinako went to get help, but while the Warrior was gone, the cathedral collapsed, crushing both Souzou and his bride.
